Patients & Visitors
As our name, Excela Health, implies, our goal is to provide excellent care, whether it’s a hospital stay, outpatient surgery, physical therapy, home care or any of our other services.
That excellence also extends to helping you have the most positive experience possible through convenient, comfortable and easily accessible services including easy-to-use directions, cafeteria/snack shop availability, pastoral care and more.
You can find directions to our facilities and parking information for your arrival at the link below.
Hospitalists
A hospitalist is a doctor who specializes in caring for hospitalized patients only. Excela Health hospitalists are board certified physicians with expertise in hospital-based medicine. Our hospitalists direct your care during your hospital stay and provide information related to your hospitalization to your primary care physician. He/she also
- Examines you and coordinates all exams, tests and treatments while you are in the hospital.
- Ensures a smooth transition back to your primary care physician.
- Prescribes and organizes medicines you need after leaving the hospital.
When in our hospitals, your hospital team may include the hospitalist, an advanced practitioner (such as a nurse practitioner or a physician assistant), case manager, pharmacist and a nurse. If, at any time, you have questions, please ask to speak with the hospitalist.

Excela Health is dedicated to creating a comfortable, healing environment for our patients. Visiting with family and friends while in the hospital can help speed a patient’s recovery and make a hospital stay more pleasant. Please check with your caregivers for special family circumstances. Visitors may be restricted for safety or during care interventions. A patient has the right to deny visitors. As visiting hours may be affected by the pandemic, please make sure to visit the Visiting Hours & Guidelines page for the most recent information.

Know Your Medications
Excela Health has implemented numerous “Quality Initiatives” so that every patient receives high quality and safe care. One of them is preventing medication errors. That’s where we can use your help. So that you can keep track of your medications as well as aiding others in providing care most accurately, we have developed a “Medical History Card” to be filled out and taken to any medical appointment or hospital visit you make.
So whether you are a patient, may be at some point, or see a doctor regularly, your participation is important.
Here’s how you can help:
- Bring a list of your current medications with you to all hospital and doctor’s office visits.
- Update your list of medications regularly, if needed.
- Inform your doctor or health care provider about any allergies.
- Keep track of any immunizations/vaccinations received.
- Ask questions without hesitation about anything concerning your care and treatment.
