The YMCA and Independence Health System are launching a quarterly speaker series with local providers sharing practical wellness insights. Each session is designed for active adults and includes a brief presentation on topics supporting healthy aging and everyday wellness. For August, Alison Annett, MOT, OTR/L, CBS, Pelvic Health Occupational Therapist and Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, presents "Pelvic Health Therapy and Lactation Services."

Join Independence Health System Mall Walkers at Westmoreland Mall in the food court. The doors open at 7:45 a.m. Dr. Gabrielle Beck, Family Medicine Physician, will present 'The Importance of Getting Blood Work Done' at 8:20 a.m. After the presentation, you'll have the chance to ask questions and walk through the mall to get your steps in!
There is no cost to join. Meetings take place the fourth Thursday of each month, March through October and the third Thursday in November.

Blood donation can help save a life, and the need for blood is constant. There is a severe nationwide shortage, especially of blood types O Neg, O Pos, A Neg, and B Neg. Donate to the American Red Cross from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 27 at Westmoreland Hospital.
