St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, and many people can't resist the temptation of sipping a classic Shamrock Shake to celebrate, which is totally understandable - they’re fantastic!
However, it is important to know that just one small minty milkshake contains 460 calories and 64 grams of added sugar. Although they taste great, the flavor is temporary and not the most nutritious option. Consuming foods high in empty calories, sugar, additives, and food dyes can leave you feeling unsatisfied and may even make you feel hungrier, leading to overeating. This is because non-nutrient-dense foods contain more calories and sugar than vitamins, minerals, and macronutrients to help satiate one's hunger. Unfortunately, Shamrock Shakes fall into this category. But don't worry, there are healthier ways to enjoy a minty treat this month without compromising your health goals!
