Family Medicine Residency Class of 2022

Seven physicians recently completed the three-year Family Medicine Residency Program at Excela Health. Following graduation, Dr. McClarren and Dr. Jung will be remaining with Excela Health, with Dr. McClarren joining Derry Family Medicine in September and Dr. Jung becoming part of the Excela Hospitalists serving Latrobe Hospital. The Wittes are headed for New York State, where Dr. Jessica Witte will join a group practice in Olean while Dr. Matthew Witte has been accepted into a sports medicine fellowship program at the University of Buffalo. Dr. Watson is also headed to fellowship training in sports medicine at Auburn University in Alabama, while Dr. Rickard will become part of the primary care team of Unity Health Network in Ohio. Dr. Aucoin is also joining a hospitalist group at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
The Excela Health Latrobe Family Medicine Residency program offers residents the benefit of working various clinical rotations and office-based practice while supporting the 24/7 coverage at Excela Health Latrobe hospital and broadening their understanding of the continuum of care. Founded more than 45 years ago, with a staff that has more than 200 years combined teaching experience, the Latrobe Family Medicine Residency Program teaches students to focus on patient-centered care.
Excela Health Latrobe Hospital and the Family Medicine Residency Program are the recipients of the DeWitt C. Baldwin, Jr. Sponsoring Institution Award given by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and Arnold P. Gold Foundation. This prestigious award is presented to accredited residency/fellowship programs that are exemplary in fostering a respectful, supportive environment for medical education and the delivery of patient care, which leads to the personal and professional development of learners.
