U.S. News and World Report Awards
Having reviewed hospitals for the past 27 years, rankings evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide, helping to guide patients to hospitals that deliver outstanding care across 25 specialties, procedures and conditions. To determine the rankings for Best Hospitals, objective measures such as patient outcomes, the number of times a given procedure is performed, infection rates, and adequacy of the nursing staff, among others, are used. In addition to national rankings, hospitals were also ranked regionally within states and major metro areas. Best Hospitals was produced by U.S. News with RTI International, a leading research organization based in North Carolina. The rankings are published in the U.S. News" Best Hospitals 2020" guidebook.
